The Alliance’s “Ask” for FY 19

April 21, 2018

The Alliance’s “ask” for FDA for FY19: at least $3.364 billion in BA funding for FY 19. This includes:

  • $2.812 billion (FY 18 final BA appropriations for FDA)
  • + $432 million (the funds associated with new program initiatives in the President’s request, allocated to centers consistent with FDA budget documents)
    • + $70 million in Cures funds (see below the following chart)
    • + $50 million in additional food safety funding (Alliance request not in the President’s request)

The table below is complicated and still may change once the Appropriations committees do their calculations. Alliance members need only focus on the “ask,” but should have confidence that it is backed up by solid calculations and reasonable assumptions.
