Changes in FDA Leadership Team
According to an article in the Wall Street Journal and a Reuters report, and based on an internal letter sent to employees at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), there have been two new appointments in the senior leadership at the agency:
- Stephen P. Spielberg, MD, PhD -- a former dean of Dartmouth Medical School -- has been appointed to the newly created position of Deputy Commissioner for Medical Products and Tobacco.
- Deborah M. Autor, JD has been promoted to Deputy Commissioner for Global Regulatory Operations and Policy from her current position as director of the agency's compliance office.
In addition, Elizabeth H. Dickinson has been appointed Acting Chief Counsel at the FDA, effective August 7. She will replace Ralph Tyler, the current FDA Chief Counsel, whose resignation was previously reported.For more detailed information see
