Majority Leader Reid to Bring Separate Spending Bills to the Floor and more
Advocacy at a Glance offers you the bullet point summary of current advocacy issues associated with the goals of the Alliance for a Stronger FDA.
Majority Leader Reid to Bring Separate Spending Bills to the Floor. According to Congressional Quarterly, Senate Majority Leader Reid has planned an ambitious schedule for taking up the remaining FY 2012 appropriations bills as stand-alone bills. Given considerable difference in spending levels and priorities between the House and Senate bills, it seems most likely this is intended to strengthen the Senate position when an omnibus bill is negotiated, rather than trying to force specific bills into law. If Senator Reid proceeds with his plan, he may bring three fiscal 2012 appropriations bills to the Senate floor in October, one of which could be the Agriculture/FDA spending bill.
