This week’s Analysis and Commentary is a Q&A on the President’s Budget Request and our Hill visits to advocate for more FDA funding.
Commissioner Califf to Testify Before House and Senate Next Week. On Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m., Dr. Califf will be testifying before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies. The primary topic is the President’s FY 23 Budget Request for FDA. There will likely be other questions that are not tied to the budget request. For more information, go to the hearing announcement.
On Thursday, April 28 at 10 a.m., Dr. Califf will also be testifying before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies. The hearing will be held in Room SD-124 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
Alliance Concludes Second Round of Hill Visits to Request Increased FDA Funding. During March and April, Alliance members and staff met with 43 Hill offices to emphasize our position on the FY 23 budget request (link) and familiarize staffers with FDA’s growing mission and responsibilities.
