Alliance "Concerned" About President's FY 13 Budget Request

In a media release issued earlier today, the Alliance for a Stronger FDA has expressed concern about the President's proposed budget request for FY 13 for the FDA.

The media release notes that "the President’s proposed budget for FDA is $4.49 billion. Of that, only $2.5 billion is from appropriated funds, the same as FY 12, with the remainder coming from significant increases in user fees paid by the various regulated industries."The media release is supported by a table showing a detailed breakdown of the President's proposed budget request for FY 13 compared to the actual approved appropriations for the prior three years (FY 10 through FY 12) exclusive of user fees.
